Clutches for marine gearboxes, winches, Z-Drives, Drawworks, generators, FiFi and hybrid propulsion systems.

Logan offers a wide variety of clutch and brake solutions for marine applications, including clutches for marine gearboxes, clutches for Z-Drives, tunnel drives, hybrid propulsion systems, winches, drawworks and generators. Clutches are designed in a series, are hydraulically or pneumatically actuated and can operate in a wet (oil) or dry environment. Modified standards can be designed to meet specific customer and application design requirements that go beyond our standard catalog offering (torque, RPM, horsepower or envelope). Logan is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) where its products are proudly manufactured and assembled in the U.S.A. Logan’s sales, engineering and manufacturing service personnel are available to answer your questions about catalog specifications, parts, service details and general inquiries about your specific design requirements. Parts and global service are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through Logan and our service network.

HPC Series Clutches

Type HPC clutches are specifically designed for heavy-duty clutch and brake applications and are hydraulically actuated.

SAE direct drive PTO

Logan Power Take-off (PTO) clutches are used in a variety of industrial, on-highway, marine, construction, agriculture, mining, oilfield and railroad applications. They are designed to be mounted between the engine PTO and the auxiliary attachment, i.e. in the drive of a multi-station pump.

LCT Series

Logan’s shaft-mounted LCT series clutches are designed to be mounted on and supported by the input shaft of a gearbox or fire extinguisher pump. The LCT’s dry disc package transmits high torque in a small space. The integral torsional coupling isolates the clutch, pump or gearbox from torsional vibrations transmitted by the engine.

Bell housing PTO

Logan’s air/fluid actuated bell housing PTO clutches are self-adjusting and are designed to mount directly to the flywheel of a diesel or gasoline engine. Friction disc packs optimize dry running and actuation is accomplished through a stationary cylinder-piston arrangement or through internal passages in the shaft and clutch.

CH series clutches

Type CH clutches are designed specifically for heavy-duty clutch and brake applications, and can be air or hydraulically actuated. The friction disc packages are suitable for both wet and dry operation.

LVC Series

The Logan LVC series clutch is an air-actuated multiple-disc dry disc package design, which transfers a smooth maximum torque transmission within a relatively short axial length.

FlexaDrive™

The Logan FlexaDrive sits between your engine and transmission, allowing up to 4 active PTO connections for a wide range of hydraulic pump requirements, such as: drive shafts, pumps, pulleys and attachable PTOs.

SAE direct drive PTO with 2-bolt or 4-bolt mounting

Logan direct drive PTOs for your Twin Disc style or ZF Marine style transmissions.

FiFi Applications

Clutches for firefighting systems from 500 to 1000 HP. Logan LCT clutches and Flexadrives for firefighting systems, fire pumps, tugs and workboats use Logan LCT series clutches, Logan direct drive PTO clutches and FlexaDrives as a connector-disconnector between the diesel engine, fire pump and auxiliary hydraulic pumps. Activation is simplified, as Logan clutches can be activated hydraulically or pneumatically. Remote engagement is possible from the control panel or the bridge.

Power take-off (PTO) clutches at the front of engine

Front-end PTO clutches are used in a variety of industrial, on-highway, marine, construction, agricultural, mining, oilfield and railway applications. They are designed to be mounted between the engine PTO and the auxiliary attachment, i.e. in the drive of a single or multi-station pump.
